Why Come to Aesthetic Laser Care for your CoolSculpting Treatment?

• We just purchased the newest CoolSculpting system in late 2016. This system cuts treatment cycle time from 60 minutes to 35 minutes allowing you to get treated faster and more conveniently.
• The new advantage head treats more fat per treatment cycle compared to the older head.
• We also perform Acoustic Radial Wave massage of the treated area immediately after the CoolSculpting. This very important step is much less painful than the regular hand massage (one of the main client complaints of CoolSculpting treatments), and improves results by causing more fat cell death, while allowing for full results to occur in 6 to 10 weeks rather than the usual 10 to 16 weeks. It also helps to reduce the overall post treatment discomfort. Most of our competitors do not offer this important treatment step and, those that do, usually charge extra for it. We provide it free of charge.
• The new system causes less treatment discomfort, and less pain and soreness after the treatment. It also causes less bruising.
• Competitive pricing and significant discounts when bundling treatment packages. Finally, Dr. Lafkas is on site 4 days a week in the event that you want additional consultation or expertise. Many of our competitors lack on-site MD supervision.

What is CoolSculpting?

The CoolSculpting procedure aims to reduce stubborn fat cells safely and effectively, without surgery or downtime. This fat reduction treatment is the only FDA-cleared procedure to use controlled cooling to safely target and eliminate diet- and exercise-resistant fat. CoolSculpting results are proven, noticeable, and lasting, so you'll look and feel better from every angle.

Fat cells freeze at higher temperatures than surrounding tissues. CoolSculpting technology safely delivers precisely controlled cooling to gently and effectively target the fat cells underneath the skin. The treated fat cells are crystallized (frozen), and then die. Over the ensuing weeks and months, your body naturally processes the fat and removes these dead cells, leaving a more sculpted you.

We will develop a customized CoolSculpting treatment plan that addresses your problem areas. Additional sessions may further enhance your results. Your individualized treatment plan will be tailored to your body, your goals, and your budget.

After we select the area(s) to be treated, the device is positioned on your body and controlled cooling is applied. During your procedure, you may choose to read, check email, or even take a nap.

The CoolSculpting procedure is non-surgical, so you can typically return to work and normal activities immediately.

Am I a good candidate?

Good candidates have noticeable bulges (i.e. pinchable fat) in certain areas they’d like to get rid of. The ideal candidate also weighs less than 20% above their ideal body weight and has a BMI of 25 to 29.

The CoolSculpting fat reduction procedure is specifically designed for those who have unwanted fat that resists diet and exercise. Unlike gastric bypass surgery, the CoolSculpting procedure is not a weight loss solution for people who are obese.

How much does the CoolSculpting procedure cost?

The price for CoolSculpting procedures varies depending on your areas of concern, the number of sessions needed, and your ultimate goals. We will help create a customized treatment plan, in person, that’s tailored to your body, your goals, and your budget. In general, the average client receives a total of 4 to 10 cycles over 3 to 6 months at a total price of $2,000 to $5,000. This price is substantially less than most liposuction treatments and without any of the surgery, downtime, and need for compression dressings.

How long is each session? How many sessions will I need?

We will help you create an individualized treatment plan tailored to your specific goals. The length of your CoolSculpting session will vary depending on the number of areas (cycles) being treated during your visit. Typically, expect each treatment to take 90 minutes to 4 hours. We may schedule additional future sessions in order to meet your long term goals.

Where do the fat cells go?

Once the treated fat cells are crystallized (cooled), your body processes the fat cells via a process called apoptosis.

What does it feel like?

As the cooling begins during the first few minutes, you will feel pressure, pulling, and intense cold. This soon dissipates. Many people read or text message, watch videos, work on their laptop, or even take a nap during their treatment.

Is the CoolSculpting procedure safe?

The CoolSculpting procedure is FDA-cleared for the flank (love handles), abdomen, submental fat, and thigh. With over 3 million CoolSculpting treatments performed worldwide, it is proven to be a safe and effective treatment for non-surgical fat reduction.

Are there any side effects?

During the procedure you may experience deep pulling, tugging, pinching, numbness or discomfort. Following the procedure, typical side effects include temporary numbness, redness, swelling, bruising, firmness, tingling, stinging and pain. Most of this resolves in several days to up to 2 weeks.

Rare side effects may also occur like paradoxical hyperplasia (an overgrowth of fat in the treated area that may require surgical liposuction to correct), hyperpigmentation (darker skin in the treatment zone), and indentations in areas where the fat loss was substantial.

The CoolSculpting procedure is not for everyone. You should not have the CoolSculpting procedure if you suffer from cryoglobulinemia or paroxysmal cold hemoglobinuria (both rare conditions). The CoolSculpting procedure is not a treatment for obesity (individuals with a BMI over 30, or individuals 25% above ideal body weight).

Can I return to normal activities after my treatment?

Yes, you can. The CoolSculpting procedure is non-surgical, so typically you can return to normal activities immediately. Often times, patients return to work after their CoolSculpting session is over.

When will I see results?

You may start to see changes as quickly as three weeks after your treatment, and will experience the most dramatic results after three to six months.

Do I need to take special supplements or follow a strict diet and exercise program?

No supplements or pills are required and you do not have to adopt new diet and exercise habits. However, many patients feel more motivated to take care of themselves after their CoolSculpting treatment.

What happens if I gain weight down the road?

Many people, after seeing the results from their CoolSculpting procedure, take even better care of themselves. However, if you do gain weight, you may gain it evenly all over your body, not just in the treated areas.
